Cornel West has hooked up with Prince, Andre 3000, KRS-One and others to make a new CD that drops on June 19th. I am so looking forward to hearing this in it's entirety. Take a listen to a few tracks here. Also, if you are interested in this project check out this video.
I am grateful for a professor I had back at the University of Nebraska, Julie Harms Cannon,who introduced me to West's work as well as having us engage and interact with W.E.B. Dubois among others. Her class inspired me to think more deeply about race in America and helped me to grapple with issues of inequality and injustice.
